Ben Buysse is a student in graphic design at Ringling College of Art and Design originally from a small rural town in Minnesota. After graduation from high school, he moved off to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in Texas to attend a Bible college. During his time there, he learned of Ringling College and made plans to attend. He first moved to Clearwater, Florida before moving down to Sarasota for school.

While living in Clearwater, one of the more unusual things happened in his life—he was employed as a pirate. That’s right—a life of piracy was his—every weekday until around 5 pm in the afternoon on the pirate cruise on Clearwater Beach.
Ben didn’t remain a pirate forever, however. He soon moved off to Sarasota to attend Ringling College of Art and Design to study graphic design. Ironically enough, Ben found himself doing a lot of writing in his writing class. Of course, the name of the class should have given it away, but he found himself writing more than he ever had. The writing did benefit him, however, as he came to realize. All of the hassle was not wasted effort, it would prove useful in due time—and then maybe he could do some artwork.
