| Hi Everyone!
I'm creating this site because I have learned so much this year from
reading other students' posts in various animation forums that I thought
it would be a good idea to create a site specifically for students to share
information. We could write "reviews" of different animation schools, since
"what school should I go to?" seems to be one of the most popular questions
on a lot of animation message boards. Also, most "how to choose a college"
books tend to include student reviews of big universities, but almost never
reviews of smaller, specialized schools, which tend to be the schools with
the strongest animation programs.
We could also share notes from visiting artist sessions so that everyone
could benefit from that information instead of just the people who go to
a particular school. (I'm pretty sure this is legal as long as we ask the
visiting artist if it's okay with them.)
We could also add tutorials in order to teach people how to do things
we've learned that aren't always offered at every school, such as how to
build maquettes, etc.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, it could be a place where students
could come to meet and chat with other students who are just as dedicated
as they are to learning the art of animation. One of the things that has
inspired me the most as an animation student has been the dedication and
passion of other students I've met. By creating this site, I hope to form
a community where students can come to share their experiences so that
we can all learn from each other, and make new friends in the process.
